ABOUT THE "PIX OF THE DAY": Each "day" I present a new image from my own work. The image may or may not be relevant to the text the is next to it. The purpose is more to show off my work. Call this shameless self-promotion or whatever. Hope you like them.

South Meadows Bridges, Hartford, CT © 1992-2002 - wbrady Transitions Like the bridge across the river, crossing over an impasse, events sometimes have a way of guiding us across obstacles into new terrian | Newfound responsibilities, the loss of a particular person, the addition of different people into one's life ...all result in modifications to the standard routine | Many of these influences I cannot talk about right now, and, perhaps, I never shall be able to discuss on as open a forum as the Internet | But their impact shall indeed be reflected in how the site evolves in the coming months | For the curious, I encourage you to return and try to read the metaphorical tea leaves if you wish | Otherwise, enjoy the day for what it provides and persevere | East Haddam's town volunteer clean-up 6 April 2002 |
I'm going to repeat this note, because the clean-up effort takes place tomorrow and I want to continue to encourage people to take part in the effort | East Haddam's 4th annual roadside clean-up1 is next Saturday, 6th of April | We start at the Town Hall on Town Street in the Little Haddam section of town at 0745 hrs | Folks with empty bedded pick-up trucks are especially welcomed | After the work is done, everyone is welcome to the Moodus Sportsman's Club for a hearty lunch, afternoon hiking and fishing | Last year over 150 people came out to help clean up litter along the roads (everything from Jagermeister nips to rotting automobile hulks) and there's hopes that the number of participants will increase this year | The Clean-up Project is co-sponsored by East Haddam Rotary, Moodus Sportsman's Club, East Haddam Land Trust, the East Haddam Scout Troop and, of course, the town offices themselves | Details for this event can be found in the East Haddam Town Bulletin2.
FOOTNOTES: 1Map credit: East Haddam town website. A larger version can be found at 2You'll need ACROBAT READER to read the town bulletin | If you don't have it, click on the logo to your right and get it. It's free! internet access tools | Check out my 10 march 2002 entry for some useful tools to help make better use of Iternet resources | MOST RECENT ESSAY: ECONOMIC TREASON: Do travesties like ENRON make your blood boil? There's a new discussion group on the Yahoo Groups website. It's still new, so the discussion has just begun. Participants are welcome. Stop by, sign up, and add your POV. site maintenance | Over the next couple of months, I shall be working on a lot of old connix pages and bringing them up to date | There shall also be a major overhaul of the internal directory structure, though you, thankfully, will not have to deal with that | Using this site's index model, I'll be adding a site map | Bear with me on this, what's now uplaoded I took from the old connix site and it has not yet been updated, but you'll be able to see progress as its made | Otherwise, hope you'll find the changes workable | More later, out fer now.
