19 aug 03 | tree trimming | "dissent is patriotic" | renewable energy | new falcon press |

tree trimming | Our homeowner's insurance company told us the other day that we had to have limbs from a tree removed within less than 7 days or we would face a 5% hike in our rates || Not only was the time frame unrealistic, we told them, but we'd had the tree thinned only a year ago and that it had taken us some time to get an arborist to do the job, at that time in early spring, when work for the arborsit was slow ||
dissent is patriotic || Ecotopics based out of Willits, California, reminds us that dissent is, indeed, patriotic. ||
The most recent feature of Ecotopics issue number #13, tells a hometown story. Who would expect a 21st Century revolution in small-town America? || It's editorial pleads for a voting procedure which can provide sure, clear results and maintains that American voters hope never again to see an outcome with results like those which we face today. ||
I also find their perspective on renewable energy resources particularly timely || Proof that there are some folks out there with a brain || Rebuild the enegry grid, indeed! ||

new falcon press || Here's one publisher's perspective on what America is about right now ! || It's the "Tsarist Occupational Government" || Robert Anton Wilson writes a satire that asks the following questions ||
  •     What is happening RIGHT NOW to human freedom?
  •     What in the world is the U.S. doing with a drug TSAR(!) who routinely and gleefully destroys millions of lives and bullies the governments of the rest of the world into prosecuting an insane war on [some] drugs?
  •     How did a Nazi spy come to have an enormous influence on current U.S. foreign policy?
  •     Will the 'war on terrorism' put the last nail in the coffin of YOUR rights?
  •     Would Hannibal Lecter make a better president than George W. Bush?

  • NEW FALCON PUBLICATIONS says of itself:
Since its inception in 1982, Falcon has published well over 150 titles at the leading edges of Psychology, Sexuality, Religion, Western Magick, Metaphysics, the Occult, New Age, Social Philosophy and similar subjects. Many consider us publishers of "rebellious" and "counter-culture" material. We couldn't agree more. We hope that we have included something to offend everyone. Including you
Dubya: The Action Figure I know, just when you thought it was safe ta go to Toys'R'USA comes this new thingy from KayBee Toys|| None other than the Dubya figher doll || So when is the draft dodger coward doll coming out, or at theas the AWOL National Guard uniform ?
I realize that my irreverence may shock and disturb some more reverential folks out there, but...oh well || Did I say something about impeachment? Not for this, obviously, but, maybe there's a reason out there somewhere ||

  • ABOUT THE "PIX OF THE DAY": Each "day" I present a new image from my own work. The image may or may not be relevant to the text the is next to it. The purpose is more to show off my work | Hope you like them |
e-mail | you can write me either at wbrady@rondak.org or at will-b@earthlink.net | I have a couple of older e-mail addresses which have become so clogged with spam that I barely look at them anymore | Too bad, really, since I still seem to get a number of notes on US Civil War artists on one of them | I won't write you back from the old addresses | Regrets for this inconvenience |

other stuff || ECONOMIC TREASON: Do travesties like ENRON make your blood boil? There's a new discussion group on the Yahoo Groups website. The conversation has just begun. Participants are welcome. Stop by, sign up, and add your POV.
