Deer hunting with bow started on 15 september. I had one guy quite willing to invite himself to the areas I hunt, but I hunt alone and avoided the query. Nothing with meat so far but did find a nice batch of Armillaria mushrooms in one place I visit. That'll make a tasty soup.
Coming this weekend, Moodus Sportsman's Club's annual Harvest Dinner. We used to call it the "Pig Roast" but this year, thnaks to a bountiful catch last season, we decided to focus more on game dishes. That is, after all, what the club is about. In Pennsylvania Rick Santorum has a real candidate runnning against him. There’s a Democrat from Pennsylvania name Chuck Pennacchio running for the party’s U.S. Senate nomination to challenge incumbent Sen. Rick Santorum in November 2006. And, TCF has it on personal authority that Chuck Pennacchio is the kind of Democratic candidate Howard Dean and the party say are our preferred leaders of the future. Of course, the old line party Dems need to step aside and let in new blood to compete.
