Once out of Central Park, we meandered south, from Columbus Circle to Times Square | After that, a subway ride to Christopher Street and Greenwich Village |
This became the starting point to walk back north; eventually arriving at St. Patrick's Cathedral and Rockefeller Center, and the sleepy rocking ride of the Dattco Bus back to home |

So we headed south, past the Huntington Hartford building and toward 42nd Street | Saw Bruce's old workplace + Reuter's Tower
 We found out that even cleaned up, Times Square still has it's tawdry elements [thank goodness!] | A trip down 9th Avenue 
catching sight of the Empire State Building and some social protest signs | We took the Subway to the Village, where we unexpectedly ran into 
 Vee, Buddy, Bob and Jay on their way to Central Park | Then we stopped at our favorite patisserie [in Chelsea] for some hot coffee | |
The walk back to midtown was an architectural tour | From the quaint ancient house at Greenwich + West 10th Streets to...
  ...the Old 10th Precinct headquarters [now "le Gendarmes"] and a look at Richard Meier's new waterfront high rise apartments | 
 We read the story of the Chelsea Hotel, marveled at the Flatiron, Empire State and Chrysler Buildings | Peeked at a toney nightclub somewhere | 
 Then on to Grand Central Station, up to 48th Street and to Rockefeller Center and a wait for the bus home | |
