9.11

So where was I one year ago today ? I was going into work | overheard a couple of secretaries talking ..."...then they said that somebody slammed into the Pentagon..." | but I took it no notice | what they were saying sounded too much like they must have seen some social sci-fi horror/adventure flick the night before and they were just disucssing it at work |
so it wasn't until I got onto the units, and noticed patients and forensic specialists sitting in the same teevee rooms together all watching in disbelief |
the towers hadn't fallen yet | none of us could quite grasp the whole picture, though it was certain that important petty rivalries being played out only hours before, no longer carried much importance |

and the day only got weirder as it went on | At h ome, we live on the flight line to a major airport | although in a country locale it was common for us to watch the jets soar above us, waiting for the sounds of their engines to catch up with what we saw | now silence |

silence | silence | silence | silence | silence

like the silence of the thousands who died without so much as a thought from their executors, now also dead themselves | for what? no martyrdom is worth what the perpetrators paid | for ~ ultimately ~ they may have been martyrs at the altar of Mammon, but as Mammon revers no human, their deaths, as those of the many whom they killed ~ was very likely for naught |

handcuffs
really, it seems like there is nothing much to say | the media and military propaganda hype overshawdows the personal | what else is left? well ~ plenty | real people died, after all | and after all the lame fawning from corporate nationals | after all the pseudo trust funds established for arbitrage treaders' kids, people realized that there were janitors and coffee bar waitresses, fire fighters, average joes, arabs and englishmen ~ we were all hurt in the process | but now where do we go?

let us pray
